In line with our commitment to sustainability, we optimise every design to minimise cutting loss and avoid the need for glue, facilitating recycling.

Inevitably, residual material is produced during production, but we recycle it into filling for our acoustic products. We also repurpose larger pieces of surplus material as packaging, further reducing waste.

Innovative Use of Recycled Materials

We are thrilled to share that our Miixfelt™ acoustic panels now contain 75% post-consumer recycled content, thanks to our commitment to using sustainable materials without compromising the integrity or aesthetic of our products. This achievement has been independently certified by SCS Global Services, affirming that our panels incorporate a minimum of 75% recycled polyester staple fiber.

Sustainable Design and Production

Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond materials to every aspect of design and production. We optimise each design to minimise cutting loss, eliminate the need for glue, and facilitate recycling at the end of the product's life. Any residual material produced during manufacturing is recycled into filling for our acoustic products or repurposed as packaging, further reducing waste.

Health-Conscious Materials

Our Miixfelt™ panels are entirely free from formaldehyde binders, ensuring they are safe for both our customers and the environment. This focus on health and safety is integral to our sustainability efforts, as we strive to create products that are not only eco-friendly but also contribute to healthier indoor environments.

Future Processing and Management of PET Waste

We are collaborating with several UK universities to develop innovative methods for recycling PET fibre. This initiative has progressed significantly and shows promising potential. We are now seeking commercial support to further these processes, aiming to make them accessible to private companies through licensing agreements. This will help establish a circular recycling process for PET polyester fibre.

At Lumii, we work alongside Veolia to ensure zero waste ends up in landfills. Veolia transforms the bottom ash from our energy recovery operations into valuable construction materials, such as road bases and bricks. Metals are recovered and recycled, while the remaining ash is repurposed, contributing to waste reduction and a lower carbon footprint, all in support of a circular economy.
